If you are 65 or older, the OWLS ministry — “Older, Wiser, Learning, Sharing,” is for you. Led by the Rev. Holly Gloff, participating in OWLS events offers new opportunities for fellowship, community building, learning and caring for each other.
Each month during the program year, we provide opportunities for learning, exploring and fellowship.
We travel to historic sites, museums and other places of interest, exploring the Tar Heel State.
From television personalities and World War II heroes, to area musicians and historians, our monthly lecture series provides continuing education for all. OWLS events are advertised in our weekly emails and in the Canterbury Tales.
As part of our caring community, we send greeting cards to those who are home bound, especially on birthdays, and during an illness. And at the end of our program year, we celebrate with our Spring Fling, a lively luncheon featuring music, great food and libations and the announcement of our Senior of the Year!
