ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION
The Lifelong Disciple

Whatever your stage of life, we welcome you to St. Michael’s and strive to serve you through our adult formation. We seek to form community and deepen our faith and knowledge together. Our adult ministry consists of events and classes focused on the specific challenges and joys experienced by adults of all ages!

From our adult forum classes following our 10:00 a.m. Sunday service (September through May) to weekly bible studies, seasonally themed series and special guest speakers, we offer a variety of opportunities to learn, engage and enjoy fellowship.

WEEKLY ADULT FORUM

The Adult Forum is our primary Sunday formation offering and meets every Sunday immediately following the 10:00 a.m. Eucharist. Led by the St. Michael’s clergy or invited guests and scholars, the forum covers a wide variety of topics related to faith: the Bible, Church history and Christian ethics, to name a few.

PERIODIC SUNDAY OFFERINGS

Periodically throughout the year, we offer Adult Forums that focus on a particular subject of interest. These classes are publicized in our weekly emails and the Canterbury Tales.

Christian Parenting Class

Classes on Christian parenting are offered on occasion during the Adult Forum hour on Sunday mornings. Topics have included healthy familial engagement with technology, children’s books and TV shows, maintaining a healthy spiritual life as parents, and much more.

Writing in Response to Scripture

This class is a workshop that uses the lectionary as a springboard for writing and discussion. It is often said that “writing is thinking,” and in this class we explore how the creative process can help us to think more deeply about Scripture and how it connects with who we are.

Theology and the Arts

Led by parishioners and clergy with various expertise in the arts, the Theology and Arts class explores Scripture and spirituality through engagement with visual art, poetry, music, and architecture.
